Dear Exhibitors and Visitors of TAPA 2020,

     Following the incident of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation across the world resulting in rising concerns over travel to Thailand and participation of the 9th Thailand International Auto Parts & Accessories Show (TAPA) to be held during 2 – 5 April 2020, I wish to inform you of the most up-to-date situation with regard to Thailand’s handling of COVID-19 and TAPA’s response measures as follows: 

     1. Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), as show organizer, has decided to run the 9 th ThailandInternationalAutoParts&AccessoriesShow(TAPA2020)asscheduledduring2-5April2020. 

     2. Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health has stepped up the alert code of COVID-19 to level 3: avoid travel to area affected. The screening of all passengers arriving from risk areas has been carried out at Thailand’s 5 international airports as well as at border areas and ports. The country has continued to strictly screen and closely conduct surveillance for the disease especially at local tourism hotspots. Kindly note that Thailand’s surveillance and screening measures in disease prevention and control were ranked No. 6 out of 195 countries for the world’s strongest health security by Johns Hopkins University’s 2019 Global Health Security Index. The ranking indicates that the country’s medical and public health systems are at international standards (Attachment). Furthermore, Thailand is working closely with the World Health Organization (WHO) and other countries to ensure any infections caused by COVID-19 are prevented and controlled. 

     3. To ensure exhibitors and visitors’ safety at the 9th Thailand International Auto Parts & Accessories Show, as the Fair Organizer, DITP together with BITEC Management Co., Ltd, the venue provider has issued the following Coronavirus prevention measures: 

Spray disinfectant in common areas on a daily basis

Assigned extra cleaners to sanitize touch points in a corridors lifts and escalators

Provide hand free sanitizer at all key entrances and information counter

Cleaning and filter changing to our air-conditioning units

Open air ventilation before operating time on daily basis

Install thermal-scanners as well as use infrared thermometers at main entrances (EH 98 and EH 103) to identify potential virus-infected persons.

Well prepared and ready for delivery if people at risk and found 

     4. Besides the aforementioned measures, DITP has been discussing with Thailand’s Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health on the implementation of further preventive measures at the upcoming Thailand International Auto Parts & Accessories Show (TAPA). Updates on the matter will be disseminated to you in due course.
